Welcome to Glencoe Holiday Flats. We have three holiday properties located in the charming fishing town of Whitby, on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. The properties, Glencoe Holiday Apartments; Khyber Lodge Holiday Apartments and 2 Mews Cottage (4 Star Gold rating by Visit Britain) are ideally situated in the centre of the popular West Cliff hotel and guesthouse area. There are many attraction points within the immediate vacinity, including the lift to the beach and the beach itself; the Spa Theatre; the promenade; and the Royal Crescent mewss and sports ground, which includes tennis courts, an indoor swimming pool, outdoor paddling pools and miniature golf. The properties are a short walk to the centre of this very old and picturesque town which still boasts an active quayside fish market, and some of the finest fish restaurants in the country. The town has an old heritage, and is famous for being the home of Captain James Cook, the explorer, and Bram Stoker, who created the story of Dracula. The east-side of Whitby holds a mixture of fishermans' cottages and specialist shops along its narrow cobbled streets, leading back to the 199 steps up to St. Mary's Church and the ancient Abbey of St. Hilda. Other notable attractions are Captain Cook's museum, the RNLI Lifeboat museum, the Pannet Museum & Park, and, of course, the expansive sandy beach that stretches from Whitby to Sandsend.
