About Us

As seen on Five's Hotel Inspector, July 08.

This cosy bed and breakfast is situated near the city of Newport, Gwent, overlooking the Severn Estuary and the Bristol Channel. It was featured in the article 'Most Romantic place in Britain' by Cosmopolitan magazine in 1998.

The lighthouse has been featured in most national magazines and newspapers, too numerous to mention. It has also been featured on many television shows, including The Big Breakfast Show, House Busters, My House, Extreme Houses, Coastal Living, House to House and the Five's Hotel Inspector. Recent articles have been in The Sunday Mirror, the Guardian and The Sunday Times.

Perhaps the strangest house around, this ex-lighthouse - found at the end of a very long stony track - is an unusual example of its kind, built in 1892 to a unique design. It was decommissioned in 1912 and saved from dereliction in 1987 by Frank and Danielle Sheahan.

There is also a 21ft Authentic Mongolian Yurt in the grounds and a holiday mobile home for people who are adventurous and love fishing, biking, bird watching or just want to chill out or want to have a personal retreat.

A hot tub on the roof terrace is an experience not to be missed. Lots of therapies on hand.

Many attractions and amenities nearby. About 10 golf courses in Newport and of course, the Ryder Cup2010 was hosted by the Celtic Manor, about 20 minutes from us.

Friendly, relaxing and romantic. Great place for family reunions, hen nights and couples. The lighthouse has a civil wedding licence for 25 people which means a cosy affair for those who are not keen on big weddings.

A relaxing and peaceful break...
