About Us
Yellow House is situated just a quarter mile beyond the village of West Woodburn near Otterburn, in the heart of historic Northumberland.
The accommodation has recently been renovated and boasts three spacious en-suite bedrooms, dinning room and a sun lounge with beautiful views across the very private gardens and down to the River Rede.
The surrounding Northumberland countryside is a paradise for walkers and horse riders (stables and grazing available) with miles of bridleways and public footpaths including the nearby Pennine Way.
You may prefer to relax in our garden, followed by a five minute stroll to the village where you will find a traditional country pub - The Bay Horse Inn, a small restaurant and there is an a la carte restaurant at the Otterburn Tower only 4 miles away. Yellow House is ideal to explore the Northumberland National Park, Kielder Water and Forest Park, the Scottish Borders and the market towns of Hexham and Rothbury.
If you are looking to relax we can offer discounts for long stay - our spacious lounge is very private and the gardens are walled and peaceful - ideal for a retreat. You may want to be active and enjoy horse riding in the National Park, learning to shoot clay pigeons, go on a quad bike safari, fish in the Rivers North Tyne & Rede or the still waters at Sweethope and Caistron.
We also have local artists who open their studios to the general public by appointment such as Mary Ann Rogers and Mike Bell. At Kirkharle - 10 miles away we have a Courtyard full of artists, sculptors, furniture makers and a delightful Coffee House.
There is lots to see and do in this unspoilt area of Northumberland. At Yellow House we offer you an excellent choice for your breakfast in our regency dining room. Feel free to enjoy the garden and the lounge. All bedrooms are en suite and the family room has its own dressing room and large shower room as well as three beds - plenty of space and comfort. |
