The idyllic Royal Oak Inn in historic market town Appleby in Westmoreland, has stood in Bongate, the oldest part of Appleby-in-Westmorland for over 300 years always providing sustenance for the weary traveller. The old county town of Westmorland, it is situated in the beautiful Eden Valley and is an ideal centre from which to explore the beauties of the Pennines, Lake District, Scottish Borders and, of course, the Yorkshire Dales and Howgill Fells.
